OurPreamble

TheDigital Buddhas are a group of clean and sober Disco Biscuit fans that love to get down and dirty, without the use of any mind-altering substances. The music is our "drug". Our main goal is to provide support, community and information to other kids that don’t want to use. We have absolutely no opinion on alcohol and drugs; we neither condemn nor condone it. We are not affiliated with the band, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or any other fan-based support group. There are no dues or fees for membership. The only requirement is the desire to stay substance free at shows. Though the Digital Buddhas consists primarily of people recovering from various addictions, we welcome anyone who wishes to remain clean and sober at shows. We can be found by looking for yellow balloons or our information tables at shows.

Membership

There is no official process for becoming a member of the Digital Buddhas. You simply become a member when you say you are one. As stated in our preamble, “The only requirement for membership is a desire to stay substance-free at shows. Though the Digital Buddha’s consists primarily of those recovering from addiction, we are open to anyone who wishes to remain clean and sober at shows”.

The Digital Buddhas at Shows

The Table - Our table can be found inside the concert venue at most Disco Biscuits shows. Keep your eyes peeled for the YELLOW BALLOONS and the Digital Buddhas banner. If you're still having trouble finding us, try asking at the merchandise table. Apart from a host of clean and sober Disco Biscuits fans, at the table you will find varied playful sundries including great stuff like stickers, candy, set-list kits, and smiles - lots of smiles. You can also pick up a copy of this newsletter at the table. The main purpose of having a table at shows is to have a "head-quarters" for recovering people who might need to talk.

The Meeting -We also have the table as a location to provide a 20-30 minute meeting between sets where people can share their experience, strength and hope about staying sober. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Service

If you have over 6 months of recovery, you can help the Digital Buddhas out by serving as a table representative on tour. For information on getting involved and working the table, contact us at the Yahoo group.

Each tour, the Digital Buddhas publishes a newsletter for fans to learn more about our organization and for members to share their experience, strength and hope with each other. You can help us out by submitting something to the newsletter by contacting us at the Yahoo group. Stories, poems, graphics, recipes, etc. are all welcome and encouraged.
